The third and final 2018-19 Tournament of Champions invitational series event took place at Hazelwild Farm in Fredericksburg, Virginia on January 26th. Eleven of the fifteen schools entered are currently leading their respective IHSA Regions. One school got to hold not only the champion ribbon for the day but also the yearly Tournament Series Trophy and the banner pictured here.

So who won all the big prizes on January 26th in Fredericksburg? It might be a school with a campus in one state and their own equestrian complex just to the north in another state...

 2018 IHSA NATIONALS RESULTS
IHSA Nationals took place May 3rd through 6th in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the fifth time the event has been held in this state capitol and the first time since 1984 that the large coliseum was used for all the classes. One English team quickly established themselves as the leader while the eventual Western Champion team came from behind but won by more than a blue ribbon's worth of points... Full Story
 
2018 HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
Not only do we now have information and some results from the December 1st Holiday Tournament of Champions invitational held on the campus of Otterbein University we also include with that story a similar write-up on the September 22nd Pre-Season Tournament of Champions event at the Randolph College Riding Center. 2018 ALUMNI TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
For the first time in three years the Alumni Tournament took place in two different locations; one for hunter seat (the first Sunday in June) and one for Western (exactly two weeks later). Schools in Virginia and Michigan claimed the top riders in each discipline... Full Story
 
2018 ZONE 1 ZONES RESULTS
As usual everyone got their money's worth at Zone 1 Zones as four teams were still alive for a chance to go to Nationals through seven team classes. When it was over a school from Region 4 named for their state's largest city advanced a full team for the first time since 1992... Now Posted
 
2018 ZONE 2 ZONES RESULTS
Going into the event no Zone 2, Region 2 school with a full hunter seat team present had ever been offically eliminated at Zones since the elimination process began for this zone in 2001. Meanwhile no Long Island school had taken a full hunter seat team to Nationals in 20 years. Both streaks remain intact, though only by a tiebreaker for second that went in favor of a school from northernmost New York state... Now Posted

There was no race for first place as Centenary University won Zone 3 Zones for the sixth consecutive year and by 17 points no less! The race for second was officially decided in the final class of the day... Now Posted
 
2018 ZONE 4 ZONES RESULTS
Three of the five schools with a full hunter seat team present were not returnees from the 2017 Zone 4 Zones team competition. And two of the three survived to go to Nationals. And one of the two will be doing so for the first time in program history... Now Posted
 
2018 ZONE 5 ZONES RESULTS
The defending National Champions and host SCAD Bees won early and often, earning 33 of a possible 35 points through five team classes. The runner-up to SCAD came from behind to return to Nationals with a full group of Cougars (hint which team that might be)... Now Posted

Three teams were still alive going into the final team class. When it was over a tiebreaker settled first and second place while another school finished only one point behind both of them... Now Posted

In one of two IHSA Zones that runs from the Canadian border to the Mexican Border, a school from Texas took the top prize while a school from Indiana with many prior Nationals appearances joined them... Now Posted

Zone 8 not only runs from Mexico to Canada it even includes a few Canadian schools. One of those schools produced an IHSA Nationals Cacchione Cup Qualifier. A school from Northern California won Zone 8 Zones outright for a 13th consecutive season while a school that did not field an IHSA team from the fall of 2005 until 2016 will return to Nationals with a full team for the 16th time in program history...
