Though she is currently tied for fourth in the Zone 1, Region 3 open rider standings, Amanda Pettengill of Mount Holyoke College (center) won a three-way ride-off for Reserve at the November 8th Amherst College show versus teammates Tracey Mack (on left) and Cassie Herman (on right). Herman leads the Region 3 open rider standings by a 45-42 margin over Mack, followed by Lauren Duffee of Holy Cross (not pictured) with 41 points and both Pettengill and defending Region 3 Cacchione qualifier Kate Lawrence of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (also not pictured) with 38.

The first of the year is already behind us. With that said it is time for our annual analysis of the Open Rider Races, both Hunter Seat and Western. Campus Equestrian hopes to have the Cacchione Cup and AQHA Trophy "Tracker" pages posted by January 17th...

THE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
Would you believe that as of the first of the year the IHSA has 22 new programs registered, with at least 14 of these schools having already shown this fall? Though at least two programs existed in the distant past, we consider them newbies for now. We hope to write something about each of these 22 programs before the season ends... Coming Soon
 
ALUMNI RETURNS TO OHIO/KENTUCKY BORDER
"This marks the second consecutive (season) that Zone 6, Region 2 has offered alumni classes in many years," says University of Kentucky alumni rider Megan Carter, who is also the regions' alumni rep. NOT EVERYONE IS IN HIBERNATION THIS JANUARY
Though some may be surprised, the first IHSA show of 2009 will take place on January 10th, with Oakland University hosting a Zone 6, Region 4 hunter seat show in the small town of Detroit. However since there are so few IHSA shows in January we will examine what is on the schedule every weekend through February 1st... Coming Soon
