A great many IHSA teams paint their step stools with their team colors. The University at Buffalo took a slightly different route, decorating their step stool with stickers related to the school and it's mascot, the Bull. Mae Kraetz (on left) and Jillian Ash of the University at Buffalo are seen here with the step stool at the October 20th Cornell University Zone 2, Region 1 show. Both are sophomores and both are qualified for Regionals (Kratz in limit flat and Ash in limit fences) while the Bulls are tied for fifth place through four shows. If the Bulls hold this position it will be their best placing overall in program history.

The IHSA season is two months old for Zone 7, Region 1 (with St. Mary of the Woods set to host a pair of hunter seat shows over the November 9th/10th weekend). Yet for a few regions the 2024-25 season starts this weekend, with Zone 4, Region 5 most notable since a hurricane forced postponment of three shows. High Point University will host back-to-backs in this region which includes 2019 and 2022 IHSA National Champion Emory & Henry College.
