Since the award was first presented in 1982 no rider from a Zone 2 school had ever won the individual AQHA Trophy at IHSA Nationals. But that changed on April 26th, 2009 when State University of New York at Oswego sophomore Jennifer Nagel came out ahead of 21 others in the AQHA class to capture the award. Seen here at the February 22nd Nassau Community College show are, from left to right Griffen Chumas, Nicole Sottilo, Kelly Crawford and Allison Diehl of St. Joseph's College. During the 2008-09 season St. Joseph's finished sixth out of 12 teams within the Region 4 hunter seat team standings while Chumas, Crawford and Diehl were qualified to ride at least once each at Regionals on March 22nd.
 

ZONING IN!
 
While it may have been Region 4's turn to host Zone 2 Zones, the Region 1 high point team had home field advantage. Held at the Centenary College Equestrian Center on April 4th, the Cyclones dominated the Zones team competition, while a school from the Albany, New York area had the most undergraduate Individual IHSA Nationals Qualifiers...
