Kelsey Johnson (on left) is the Rider Equestrian Team superfan! And she has brought good luck to Broncs' open rider Melissa Lee (on right). From Middletown, New Jersey, Lee was high point rider at the season opener held at Hickory Run Farm on October 2nd which helped Rider earn reserve high point team honors. Somewhat remarkably Lee is second in the Region 2 open rider standings despite riding at the intermediate flat level through the first five shows! And oh yes the Broncs are off to their best start ever, sitting in third place after seven shows.

Only two points behind Rider is Franklin & Marshall College. Coached by former Penn State - Berks rider Hannah Krieder (center), the Diplomats had three riders qualified for Regionals through November 6th. Two of them are Jill O'Brien (on left) in intermediate flat and Esther White (on right) in both novice divisions. Not pictured is Anastasia Bezsylko, who is qualified in both open divisions and has almost a 30 point lead on Lee of Rider in the Region 2 Cacchione race.
Best in Show! Cara Best of West Chester University (on left, with Golden Rams head coach Wendy Myers) needed a point and received a point to go to Regionals in intermediate fences as West Chester co-hosted on October 2nd. The senior from Downingtown, Pennsylvania is one of nine West Chester riders qualified for Regionals over seven fall shows. The Golden Rams are firmly in second place overall but managed a 35-all tie for high point team at the October 9th Bucks County-hosted show.
Her fan club should be called 'the Domenico republic' or even 'steak Domenico!' Never mind the forced puns she is Allie Dominico of Delaware Valley University and the sophomore from Marlboro, New Jersey is qualified for Regionals in novice fences. Domenico is seen here before placing second in open flat at the November 19th Rider show. Delaware Valley tied West Chester for high point team on October 9th but otherwise the Aggies won the other six shows outright and lead the region by 54 points going into the winter break.
She walked and trotted so well that now she has to canter! Mackenzie Weston (pictured) is the only Shippensburg University rider qualified for Regionals through the fall. Technically a senior and coincidentally from Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, Weston is qualified in the walk-trot division.
A trip down memory lane! Kimberly Deptula of Rowan University (on left) and head coach Ariel Frattaroli are seen here at Red Wing Farm on October 25, 2014 after Deptula won her novice fences class. From Haddon Township, New Jersey, Deptula started her senior year with a second in novice flat on October 2, 2016 to point out of the division. Deptula did not repeat the red ribbon until November 20th at Stony Run Fields, this time placing second in intermediate fences which ironically leaves her needing exactly five points to class out of that division.
