IHSA ZONE 3 - REGION 2

And off to Nationals she went! Jessica Katz of Delaware Valley College is seen here after placing second in individual open flat at Zones on April 1st, automatically advancing her to IHSA Nationals on April 3rd. The sophomore from West Hartford, Connecticut finished a mere five points behind teammate Ciara Menkens (not pictured) who represented Region 2 once again at Nationals in the Cacchione Cup Competition.

We will admit that Los Angeles Angels rookie Mike Trout (not pictured, also known as the 'Millville Meteor') is probably the most famous person from Millville, New Jersey at the moment. But current second place honors should go to Jen Taylor of the Arcadia University equestrian team. A junior from Millville, New Jersey, Taylor (pictured) placed fifth in both individual open reining and individual open western horsemanship at Semifinals in Harrington, Delaware over the March 24th/25th weekend.

Five Franklin & Marshall College riders qualified for Regionals but only Maxwell Sechzer (pictured) made it through to Zones. The sophomore from Princeton, New Jersey finished the 2011-12 season with a fifth in individual walk-trot at Zones in Doylestown, Pennsylvania on April 1st.

Emiline Mylod (on right) was the only member of the Rider University equestrian team to qualify for 2012 Zones. Seen here with co-coach Debbie Purowitz at the November 5th, 2011 Rider show at Briarwood Farm, Mylod was fifth in individual intermediate on the flat at Zones on April 1st.

Seen here after winning her advanced walk-trot-canter class at the March 4th Penn State - Berks show, Jen Poland was the only Bucks County Community College rider to advance to Zones. The sophomore from Chalfont, Pennsylvania was one of three Bucks hunter seat riders to qualify for Regionals in 2011-12.

Is West Chester University's Kendall Gearren disguised as a Woodchuck? A Beaver? A Golden Ram? Whatever she may be the senior from Mount Laurel, New Jersey qualified for 2012 Regionals in intermediate fences.
