Bloomsburg University captain Kiersten Eddinger (on left) pointed out of limit fences with a second on October 12th. Her teammate Caillin Boyle (on right) was high point rider that day. Boyle was first and Eddinger second in the first section of limit fences and later Boyle was second in limit flat. A question-off even later put the freshman from Coatesville, Pennsylvania on top for the day in her IHSA debut.

At the Region 4 season opener on October 12th both Lafayette College and the University of Scranton tied for reserve high point team with 26 points. However because Scranton had three blue ribbons on their point card to Lafayette's two technically the Royals had the edge. One of the three blue ribbons on the card belonged to open rider Tempe Salatiello (on right, with her Mother). From Lebanon, New Jersey, Salatiello was a winner in open flat. While Bloomsburg hosted the season opener at Keystone Horse Center the Royals hosted at the same facility the very next day.
Lafayette College head coach Kelly Poff (on left) poses with Emma Wilson, who is one of several Leopards who started the 2019-20 season in both of the limit divisions. From Hampden, Maine, Wilson might not be a limit rider for very long, as she needed only two points over fences and six points on the flat to class up headed into the October 13th University of Scranton show.
If they name a horse show after her we hope it is called the "Devyn Horse Show!" Devyn Riddle of Lehigh University (pictured) is another rider who could point up during the fall of 2019. From Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Riddle is not far from classing out of the new novice division and becoming a limit rider for the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh had a full point card on October 12th and scored 23 points the day this photo of Riddle was taken.
Madison McFarland of East Stroudsburg University (pictured) is yet another Region 4 rider nearing a class-up. The junior from Collegeville, Pennsylvania was fourth in novice on October 12th to climb within eight points of reaching the limit levels. ESU will hosted the fifth of six Region 4 hunter seat fall shows on November 2nd.
One individual who pointed up twice at the Region 4 season opener is Gabrielle Pierson of Kutztown University. From Ambler, Pennsylvania Pierson (on right) kicked off her sophomore year with a fourth in limit over fences (she needed a fifth or better) and a fifth in limit flat (she needed a sixth or better). Pierson is seen here with new Golden Bears coach Molly Yoder and "Andy," whom she rode in her limit flat class. Kutztown will host the third Region 4 show of the fall on October 19th at Windswept Acres in Oley, Pennsylvania. For the first time all of the Region 4 fall shows will be held in the state of Pennsylvania, which means no New Jersey fall shows for the first time since Region 4 was created in mid-2001.
From Churchville, Pennsylvania, Olivia Glosson of Alvernia University was one of many to make their IHSA debut at the October 12th Bloomsburg show. A sophomore, Glosson (on left) is seen here with coach Eryn Ziegler after placing second in the second section of pre-novice held that day. The Wolves will host the sixth and final fall Region 4 hunter seat show at Valley Mist Farm which is also in Oley, Pennsylvania.
They may be the only New Jersey school in Zone 3, Region 4 but they are the defending Region Champions and they started the season one-and-0. Rutgers University won the season opener in Bloomsburg with 31 points. Scarlet Knights open riders Morgan Giordano (on left) and Emma Brown (on right) excelled in two of the first three classes held at Keystone Horse Center on October 12th. Brown won her open fences and placed third in open flat while Giordano was second in both open divisions. Rutgers has captured five of the past eight Region 4 hunter seat region titles.
