For the first time in over a decade the University of Southern California qualified riders for IHSA Nationals. Junior Katie Spillane competed at 2007 Nationals in the individual novice fences division while teamate Braidee Foote competed in both individual open divisions. A senior from Laguna Hills, California, Foote finished third overall in the individual open fences. Though her Father is wearing a Penn State Sweatshirt, Dawn Ross knows he is really rooting for Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo! Ross (center, between her Father and Brother) placed fourth at Semifinals in Findlay, Ohio on March 24th, advancing her to 2007 IHSA Nationals in the individual advanced western division. The Mustang senior then earned sixth in the same division at Nationals on May 6th.
 

ZONING IN!
 
The first all-english Zone 8 Zones show took place on Saturday, April 7th in Pomona, California, two weeks after the Western Semifinals had been held in the same location. Schools located within the Golden State faired very well at Zones...

ARCHIVES AND RELICS
 

Not actually a relic, but certainly an archive! The Fairplex in Pomona, California was the site of one of the three inaugural Western Semifinal shows in March of 2007. At least one of the three Zone 8 schools entered in the team competition passed through to IHSA Nationals...
