IHSA ZONE 6 - REGION 2

The University of Cincinnati captured their first-ever western Region Title in 2009, becoming one of only two schools nationwide this season to take a full western team to semifinals for the first time in program history. Though the Bearcats did not advance a full team to Nationals, Shannon Carr (on left, with Head Coach Missy Jo Hollingsworth) was third in individual novice western horsemanship at Semifinals on March 21st, thus becoming the lone member of the Cincinnati team to compete at 2009 IHSA Nationals in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Miami of Ohio Western Coach Beth Akers (on right) got to coach the University of Kentuckys' Molly Peyton on the final day of 2009 IHSA Nationals. A junior from Columbus, Ohio, Peyton (on left) went on to place seventh overall in the individual AQHA Trophy division.
