Four of these five open riders are new to the University of Massachusetts at Amherst Equestrian Team in 2013-14. From left to right are Katie Loughman, Kelsey Stone, Katie Mahler, Vicky Johnson and the one rider back from last season, Bridgit Douglas. Loughman was nearly a Westfield State rider two seasons ago but she tore her ACL prior to the start of the season and later transfered to UMass. Loughman is a junior while Stone, Mahler and Johnson are freshman. Douglas won her open flat class at the Holiday Tournament of Champions invitational in Long Valley, New Jersey on December 7th. The Minutemen went on to place fifth out of 23 schools (all first or second place teams within their respective regions) with 21 points.
