The University of Wisconsin at River Falls finished 20 points ahead of two teams in the 2023-24 Region 3 Western Team Standings and if one rider had the greatest effect at giving the Falcons the lead it would be Sydney Hill (center). Seen here at 2024 IHSA Nationals between assistant coach Jackie Thayer (on left) and head coach Janie Huot, the senior from Princeton, Minnesota won all eight regular season open reining classes in which she competed. Hill won team open reining at the Murfreesboro, Tennessee Semifinal on March 24th which helped the Falcons edge Berry College 20-19 for fourth place in the team competition and the right to take a full western team to IHSA Nationals in Mill Spring, North Carolina May 3rd through 5th. Hill was second in team open reining shortly after this photo was taken at Nationals on May 3rd.
