Emilie Fink (on left) and Hayden Wilkes (on right) have a few things in common. They both ride for Emory and Henry College. They are both members of the class of 2022. They both hail from the Northeast (Fink from Jamesport, New York and Wilkes from Shamong, New Jersey). And on May 2, 2019 each placed second in a team class at 2019 IHSA Nationals in Syracuse, New York. Fink was a red ribbon winner in team novice flat (now known as limit flat) while Wilkes finished the day by placing second in intermediate flat. The Wasps went on to win their first-ever IHSA National Championship, with Fink and Wilkes accounting for a fifth of their 50 team points. Though Emory and Henry only went 4-3-1 in 2019-20 (four times high point team, three times reserve high point team and one tie for high point team) the Wasps still won their region by an impressive 49 points over Wake Forest.
