From Richmond, Virginia, Victoria LaCivita (pictured) was one of eight University of Virginia riders to qualify for Regionals in 2019-20. LaCivita pointed out of limit fences during her senior year. By coincidence the Cavaliers hosted the final Region 2 fall show and final Region 2 winter show, winning both. UVA took the lead when they won their fall show 38-28 over both Hollins and Virginia Tech (the fourth show of the season for the record) and never gave up that lead. Ironically the Cavaliers scored their season-high point total in a 44-42 loss to Virginia Tech on February 15th. But this is the nature of the very competitive Zone 4, Region 2, where schools have been known to capture a region title but win only one show over the course of eight or nine competitions. The Cavaliers' high point team honors at their home shows helped them to their 14th hunter seat region title since their first such championship during the 1980-81 season.
