Seen here with head coach Phillip Williamson during the Holiday Tournament of Champions invitational on December 7th, Lucy Metzler of the University of Lynchburg (on left) was high point rider at the Hornet's season opener on October 5th. A senior from Boulder, Colorado, Metzler won both of her open classes that day as well as a tiebreaker with teammate Alexandra Russell for the top individual ribbon. Lynchburg has captured three consecutive NCEA single discipline National Titles but have been equally impressive in IHSA this season. The Hornets have gone undefeated in four Region 2 shows while placing fifth overall at the Holiday Tournament in Blacksburg, Virginia in a field of 15 teams from around the country.
