Sacred Heart University head coach Tiffany Hajdasz (center) called this a 'sandwich' photo because
she is between Isabella Schupler (on left, a senior from Dix Hills, New York) and Kayla DeStephanis
(on right, a junior from Horsham, Pennsylvania) following three limit flat heats and a call back at
Region 4 Regionals at North Shore Equestrian Center on March 30th. Schupler won it for the Pioneers while DeStephanis was second in
a field of 15 riders. Both earned a trip to Zone 2 Zones later that week in Reedsville, West
Virginia to try again to place one-two in the individual limit flat. Meanwhile Sacred Heart
scored 49 points for the second time this season three Sundays earlier (also at North Shore) which
gave the Pioneers a 23 point lead over Long Island University with one show to go. The Sharks would
win on March 16th but only by five points over Sacred Heart. Somewhat unusually the Pioneers will
field a full team at a Zone 2 Zones show for the first time since 2014 and only their
third time ever, having been a member of Zone 1, Region 5 (the old Zone 2, Region 5) from 2014 to 2024.
