And even with the season coming down to the final class defending two-time IHSA Reserve National Champion Sacred Heart University still came up two points shy of the Sharks. Two members of the Pioneers are Nationals-bound, as Kylie Hwalek (not pictured) will compete in individual open over fences while Isabella Ruisi (on left) will compete in individual limit over fences. A senior from Kingston, Massachusetts, Ruisi was second in the limit fences at Zone 2 Zones on April 4th to join Hwalek (a winner in open fences earlier that day). Pioneers first year head coach Hanna Lloyd (on right), herself a 2023 Sacred Heart graduate and former rider, was the assistant coach under Tiffany Hajdasz for both of their runner-up seasons at the past two Nationals events.
