The photo of Alfred University's Maggie Childs (on left) and Saxons head coach Theresa Lounsberry returns to the Region 1 team
standings page after the former's big weekend at Lehman Farms November 15th and 16th. The junior from nearby Rochester, New
York won both of her open flat classes while winning her open fences on the 16th and placing second in the same division on
the 15th. Though she was in intermediate flat over the first three shows Childs leapfrogged into third place in the Region 1
hunter seat open rider standings. While Childs is now only four points from the top spot, the race to represent Region 1 at
Zone 2 Zones (also at Lehman Farms on April 4th) in the Cacchione class is as good as anywhere in the country. Six points
separate five riders from first to fifth place headed into the winter break. And thanks to a 40-28 win on November 15th
Alfred holds a five point lead on Cornell with two Region 1 hunter seat shows remaining in early 2026.
