They were trailing by 12 points at the winter break. After the first show of 2025 they trailed the University of Vermont by only five. Then over the March 8th/9th weekend Northeastern University went up by four on Saturday and another four on Sunday to capture their first-ever Region Title. Coached by Kate Paul (on left, who was Kate Roncarati when she competed for Mount Ida College as a member of the class of 2001) the Huskies were led by Philine Weisbeek (on right), a senior from Seattle, Washington who just missed out by one point from tieing for the regions' high point open rider. Weisbeek put 14 points on the board at both the February 22nd UNH show and the March 8th University of Maine/UNE show which figured big in the Huskies' rise to the top.
