Two classes later Sabina Kariat of Woodside Equestrian faired even better. Seen here with her Mother the high school sophomore finished third in individual JV novice over fences. Kariat was the lone Woodside rider to qualify for IEA Nationals though Woodside trains at the Stanford Red Barn Equestrian Center and several members of the Stanford IEA team were present for Kariat's yellow ribbon performance.

Until this season Zone 10 was made up entirely of Northern California teams. Elvenstar joined the IEA in late 2011 to give the organization their first Los Angeles area program. Eighth grader Kayla Lott (on right, with coach Kaycee Bishoff) is the first Elvenstar rider to reach Nationals. Lott survived the heats on April 20th to return and place third overall in individual future intermediate on the flat at the Toyota Coliseum in Syracuse, New York on April 21st.
